Abstract

The entropic lattice Boltzmann method (ELBM) extends the lattice Boltzmann approach to sub-grid simulation of turbulent flows. In this lecture, I shall explain the ELBM, and present details about its implementation and boundary conditions. A set of benchmarks will be presented and some comparison to other methods will be given. Finally, I shall also discuss recent developments of the ELBM for thermal and compressible flows.
